How It Works: Buying at Auction with Fuji Automotive
Option 1: Live Bidding at Our Office
- Live Online Auction System: We bid live using our unique online auction system, allowing access to any auction house in Japan.
- Fee Structure: Depending on the vehicle’s value, you will be charged from $300 to no more than $1,000.
Commission Fees on Successful Win Bid:
- Vehicle Value up to ¥1 Million Yen: $300.00
- Vehicle Value up to ¥2 Million Yen: $650.00
- Vehicle Value over ¥2 Million Yen: $1,000.00
Included in Our Fee:
- Overseeing the bidding process
- Payment to the auction house
- Transportation of the vehicle
- Inspection assistance
- Registration assistance
Payment Terms:
- Customers must pay in full within 72 hours of successfully winning a vehicle.
- Please Note: Any repairs or mechanical issues are the buyer’s responsibility. There is no warranty on vehicles purchased via our Direct Auction service.
Important Information:
- Our auction membership requires prompt payment within 72 hours. If customers fail to pay on time, Fuji Automotive will be forced to settle the amount due.
Late payments from clients will incur an additional 10% fee of the total win price.
Option 2: In-Person Auction Attendance
For more expensive and specialized vehicles, we offer an in-person auction service where we conduct a full inspection, hold a video call, and send multiple photos. This is the safest route when buying at auction.
Commission Fees on Successful Win Bid:
- Vehicle Value ¥1,000,001 to ¥2,000,000 Yen: $1,500.00
- Vehicle Value ¥2,000,001 to ¥3,000,000 Yen: $2,000.00
- Vehicle Value ¥3,000,001 to ¥5,000,000 Yen: $2,500.00
- Vehicle Value ¥5,000,001 and up: $4,000.00
Included in Our Fee:

- Registration assistance
- 30-day warranty once the vehicle is registered

Important Auction Service Information:
Realistic Expectations: While cars can often be found cheaper in Japan than elsewhere, it’s important to set realistic expectations. For instance, you cannot expect to buy an R34 GTR Skyline for $20,000.
Auction Sheet Accuracy: Auction sheets are filled out manually and occasionally contain errors. This means that the actual condition, packages, or features of a vehicle might differ from what is listed.
Limitations on Claims: Due to these potential discrepancies, it can be very difficult to make a successful claim. Fuji Automotive cannot be held responsible for mistakes made by the auction. We will, however, do our best to resolve any issues, but please be aware that this is a risk inherent in buying at auction.
Special Order Request Customers: Important Information
Saving Money with Special Orders: By purchasing through our special-order program, you can save money. However, please note that because you are bidding on your own vehicle, this process differs from our regular stock inventory purchases.
Warranty Details:
Option 1: Live Online Bidding: You will save money but the vehicle will not be covered by our standard 30-day protection available for our stock inventory. You will be responsible for any repairs needed to make the vehicle roadworthy before or after inspection. We will assist in selecting a vehicle in good mechanical condition, but Fuji Automotive will not be held responsible for unreported issues not mentioned in the auction.
Option 2: Direct Auction Buying: This option includes a 30-day warranty.
Financial Responsibility: When using Option 1, you are charged a small service fee for our assistance, but full responsibility for any necessary repairs lies with you. Please ensure you have funds ready to pay within 72 hours of winning the auction to avoid additional fees.
Winning at Auction: If you secure a vehicle for less than your budget, you will only pay the lower price. Our team is here to assist and guide you to the best option for your needs.
Fees and Taxes: You will be responsible for paying the car’s price, auction fees, taxes, recycle fee, and Road Tax.
JCI and LTO runs can either be included or paid separately.
