Vehicle Warranty Information:

At Fuji Automotive Yokosuka, we strive to ensure your purchase is satisfactory and that the vehicle you drive off the lot is in good working condition. However, there are key details you should be aware of before making a purchase.

Standard Warranty Coverage:

• We thoroughly check all cars before selling to ensure they are roadworthy.
• Our Free Standard warranty covers Engine and Transmission issues (powertrain warranty) for the next 1,000 kilometers driven or for 1 month, whichever comes first. Please note that European-made vehicles such as BMW are sold “as seen,” meaning you are responsible for any issues after taking ownership due to the potential manipulation of servicing and warning lamps prior to auction.

Pre-Delivery Inspection and Maintenance:

• During test drives, any faults or flaws discovered will be addressed before you take delivery of the vehicle.
• Basic maintenance, such as oil and fluid changes, is provided.
• Brakes and tires are ensured to comply with Japanese safety inspection standards, and we replace tires with low tread at no charge.
• If the car’s onboard battery is over 2 years old, we replace it. Additionally, if the battery shows low power, we charge it and ensure the vehicle is ready for startup.

Exclusions from Warranty Coverage:

• Our standard warranty plan does not cover electronic parts such as window controls, air conditioning power, and steering system components.
• Other components not covered include brakes, CV boots, drive shaft boots, suspension, shocks, and any non-powertrain components.
• Suspension-related items such as coil overs, dampers, and mounts are also not covered.
• Used cars may experience issues with lights, interior lamps, check engine lights, ignition coils, and spare plugs as they age, which are not covered under warranty.

Vehicle Treatment and Post-Purchase Considerations:

• After leaving our lot, how the car is treated is beyond our control. Issues such as engine oil leakage, radiator leakage, and AC compressor failures can occur if the vehicle is revved high, driven recklessly, or damaged underneath.
• We advise driving carefully to prevent such issues from arising after purchase.

Important Information to Note:

Please be aware that vehicles over 20 years old, including all European-made vehicles such as BMWs, are sold “as is.” This means that once you take ownership, you will be responsible for any maintenance or repairs.

For older vehicles, Fuji Automotive ensures they are inspected and in good mechanical order at the time of delivery. However, due to their age, Fuji Automotive cannot be held accountable for any subsequent failures.

European vehicles are excluded from our warranty due to the higher risk of previous owners tampering with service records and disabling warning lights before sending them to auction.

We understand this might be inconvenient and apologize in advance for this policy. Your understanding is appreciated.

(REGARDING MODIFIED VEHICLES & VEHICLES DELIVERED OUTSIDE OF YOKOSUKA)

1. Modified Vehicles: When purchasing a modified vehicle (not factory stock), please note that Fuji Automotive will not be responsible for any issues arising during inspection at the LTO. If you choose a modified vehicle from our stock or directly at auction, it is your sole responsibility to make any necessary adjustments or changes to pass the Japanese governing body inspection system.

2. Vehicle Delivery: Fuji Automotive offers the option for clients from various locations to purchase our stock vehicles or order directly at auction. However, if delivery is required to any prefecture outside of Kanagawa (e.g., Sasebo, Iwakuni, Okinawa, Misawa), we cannot be held responsible for any repairs needed due to issues occurring during transport or while driving to the client. This service is designed to help service members access vehicles from beyond their local area, often saving significant amounts compared to local dealer prices. Please understand that there is some risk involved, especially with older vehicles, sometimes exceeding 20 years of age. Long journeys can expose previously unnoticed weak spots.

Important:

Please be aware that Japanese authorities will not pass a vehicle during inspection if there is any leakage of fluids or if any warning lights, such as check engine or other system lights, are illuminated. Therefore, when we have possession of the vehicle, it is in good condition to the best of our knowledge, and we sell them as such.

It’s important to understand that used cars can have their own failure points at any time. While we strive to find quality used cars in the best condition possible at a very affordable price, our profit margins are slim.
